Join us for an immersive four-day beginner's training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. This training approaches EMDR from a Salutogenic perspective, emphasizing the potential for growth and resilience when working with complex and developmental trauma.

As discovered by Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR Therapy is a scientifically validated and highly researched treatment for trauma and adverse life experiences, recognized globally for its effectiveness with both complex trauma and single-incident trauma.  This training will cover all eight phases of the EMDR model, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding and hands-on practice in delivering EMDR Therapy in a safe and regulated manner.

*Scroll down for more information about CE hours and certificate of completion.

Training Takeaways:

  • Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the EMDR Therapy model, including the theoretical basis, the purpose of each of the eight phases, and the model’s application in treating both complex and single-incident trauma.

  • Participants will develop skills in various self-regulation and resourcing techniques, including practical tools to manage arousal states and promote client stability, ensuring a safe therapeutic process that minimizes re-traumatization risks.

  • Participants will learn advanced techniques for addressing complex and developmental trauma, including recognizing and managing dissociative symptoms, using interweaves, and navigating attachment-based issues to facilitate healing.

  • Participants will understand the latest research supporting EMDR’s efficacy, incorporating trauma-informed care principles that emphasize holistic healing and resilience-building from a Salutogenic perspective.

  • Participants will be equipped to adapt and integrate EMDR Therapy techniques into their existing therapeutic practices, accommodating a range of client needs and treatment goals.

  • Participants will learn to incorporate mindfulness techniques that have deep, historical roots in healing practices, promoting awareness and presence for both therapist and client to support the EMDR process.

  • Participants will explore the cultural and historical significance of bilateral stimulation, using traditional elements like rhythm and movement to enhance EMDR Therapy's therapeutic effects.

  • Through live demonstrations, partner-led exercises, and guided practice, participants will build confidence in desensitization, installation, and closure phases, allowing them to competently apply EMDR Therapy techniques with clients.
