Course Description

Continuing Education Hours: 20

This certification course combines the 2020 Prenatal Exposure Conference and Prenatal Trauma: Raising Children Who Have Been Exposed to Substances In-Utero training. It explores the impact of prenatal substance exposure, trauma, and toxic stress on neurodevelopment, sensory needs, and attachment. Participants will learn to recognize related behaviors and apply whole-person strategies like sensory integration, behavior support, and effective discipline tailored to these children's unique needs.

Certification Description

Those who obtain the Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Prenatal Trauma (CCTS-P) certification demonstrate expertise in using evidence-based interventions to treat trauma within a prenatal and family context. CCTS-P certification reflects knowledge of how trauma, toxic stress, and teratogens affect a mother’s body and nervous system before and during pregnancy, as well as how regulation and dysregulation impact overall health.
