Built from the ground up for 2026

A new course, a new certification, and a new 150+ page manual, all built on one idea: dissociation is a survival response, and healing begins with safety, not with digging into the past.

  • See survival, not pathology

Shift from a deficit-focused model to a resilience-building one. Use salutogenesis and the Sense of Coherence (comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness) to help clients make sense of what their nervous system has been doing all along.

  • Psychoeducation as storytelling, not lecturing

Turn Polyvagal Theory and trauma neuroscience into metaphors clients remember: the amygdala as a smoke detector, the vagus nerve as a traffic light, and traumatic memory as a movie reel shredded into still frames.

  • A forward-facing path to integration

The NeuroAffective Coherence approach begins with present-life triggers and self-regulation, not immediate trauma processing. You cannot build a house during a storm. First, you stabilize the foundation.

  • Four complex clinical cases and a new 150+ page manual

Explore trauma, culture, neurobiology, and resilience through four in-depth cases, then keep the Course Manual and Study Guide as your reference long after the training ends.

If you sit with people whose stories include trauma, and you have watched someone go quiet, go blank, or go somewhere else in the middle of a session, this training is for you.

  • Therapists, counselors, and clinical social workers who work with complex trauma

  • Psychologists and healthcare providers who want a strengths-based approach to dissociation

  • Trauma coaches and helping professionals who want to understand what dissociation is protecting

  • Graduate students in mental health fields who are building their trauma foundation

The course is open to all helping professionals. Certification requires a Master's degree or license in a mental health field, or current enrollment in one.

*Please note some interventions and modalities in this Live Webinar may go beyond the authorized scope of practice for certain professionals. It is your responsibility to review your profession’s standards and ensure that you stay within your legal scope of practice.

  • Confidence recognizing depersonalization, derealization, dissociative amnesia, and identity fragmentation, and understanding what each one is protecting

  • Safety-based regulation strategies that calm the nervous system before any deeper emotional work begins

  • Tools to build trauma narratives without flooding, including the 5% Detail Rule, time anchors, and visual narrative work

  • Language that tells clients, "It is not in your head. It is in your nervous system," so they feel less broken and more understood

  • A safe way to begin parts work using parts maps, dialogue journaling, and the house with many rooms metaphor

  • Co-leadership practices that let the client drive the bus while you navigate, building agency instead of dependency

Great course

I am an experience trauma therapist yet I still find there's a lot to learn here because the trainer made it more understandable in a layman terms.

  • Do I need to be a clinician or have specific expertise to attend this Live Webinar?

No, you do not need to meet any prerequisites or have specific expertise to attend this Live Webinar. Whether you are a clinician or just interested in the topic, we encourage you to join us. All participants will receive continuing education hours upon completion of the Live Webinar.

However, the CCTS-D certification has separate eligibility requirements, including a Master's degree or license, or current enrollment, in a mental health field. You can review those on the certification page.

  • Does this Live Webinar include supervision or mentorship for the topic being taught?

No, this Live Webinar does not include supervision or mentorship. Some topics may require additional supervision or mentorship beyond what is provided in the Live Webinar.

Registrants who qualify for the early registration bonus are invited to a one-time small-group case consultation, which is not the same as ongoing supervision or mentorship.

  • How do I access or attend the Live Webinar?

All live webinars are hosted via Zoom through Thinkific. After registering, you will be taken to an online course outline and find additional details about completing your registration and receiving Zoom access information. Please note that Zoom is set up to track each participant’s attendance and duration as part of the qualifying process for a certificate of completion. You must comply and fill out the registration form with your full name and email address to ensure your attendance is recorded.

  • How do I access the replay of the Live Webinar?

The replay will be made available in your Thinkific Live Webinar course access 1-3 business days after the live session. This replay is only available to watch for 2 weeks. Please note that the replay cannot be downloaded.

It is a chance to bring your questions and your hardest cases and get direct guidance on applying what you learned. Details will be emailed to qualifying registrants.

  • Do I need to bring a case to the consultation?

No. You are welcome to bring one, and you are just as welcome to listen. If you do share a case, please remove all identifying client information.

About Certificates of Completion

  • What is required to receive a certificate of completion?

You must attend the full duration of the Live Webinar and complete an Evaluation Form to be eligible for a certificate of completion. Full attendance includes attending the Live Webinar or watching the replay in full, which is available for 2 weeks after the live date. Partial attendance will not qualify you for a certificate. Please note, Zoom tracks each participant’s attendance and duration. You must fill out the registration form on Zoom with your full name and email address to ensure your attendance is verified.

  • When will I receive my Live Webinar evaluation link?

The Evaluation Form is provided in your webinar course access. After you complete the form, your attendance will need to be verified. We validate attendance for both live and replay participants after the 2-week replay window closes. Therefore, allow up to 2 weeks after the live event for your certificate to be emailed.

  • Is the certificate of completion emailed?

Yes, Arizona Trauma Institute will email a certificate of completion within 2 weeks after the Live Webinar. An individual's attendance and completed evaluation form are verified by the Arizona Trauma Institute before the certificate of completion is emailed. It’s important to keep this email for your records, as it will serve as your official documentation of completion. While our process for issuing certificates of completion may change in the future, we are committed to ensuring you receive your certificate promptly.

  • Can I earn a certificate of completion (and applicable CEs) by watching the replay instead of attending the Live Webinar?

Absolutely! We understand that life can be unpredictable, and you may have missed the live session for various reasons. That’s why we offer the option to watch the entire replay at your convenience. As long as you watch the replay in its entirety and complete the Evaluation Form within 2 weeks of the Live Webinar, you will still qualify for your CEs.

  • How do I know if I’ve completed the necessary steps to receive my certificate of completion?

To receive your certificate of completion, you must complete the following steps: (1.) Register and pay for the Live Webinar. (2.) Attend the entire Live Webinar session or watch the full replay (or a combination of both). (3.) Complete the Live Webinar Evaluation Form. We validate attendance for both live and replay participants after the 2-week replay window closes. Therefore, allow up to 2 weeks for your certificate to be emailed. Please note, Zoom tracks each participant’s attendance and duration. You must fill out the registration form on Zoom with your full name and email address to ensure your attendance is verified.

  • Can you get a certification from this Live Webinar?

This page enrolls you in the course only. You will receive a certificate of completion and your 18 CE hours, and you will not receive the CCTS-D credential.

If you want the credential, the $399 option includes the same three-day training plus the official certification process through Trauma Institute International. Certification requires a Master's degree or license, or current enrollment, in a mental health field, and a passing exam score of 80 percent.

We strongly recommend you check with your licensing body to verify your specific requirements.

  • How do I know if the continuing education (CE) hours provided in this Live Webinar will work for me?

You can be assured that the continuing education hours earned from this Live Webinar are generally applicable. However, to ensure they meet your specific licensing requirements, we strongly recommend checking with your licensing body. This will help you confirm that the hours will be accepted for your professional development needs.
